I love working on Halloween speech therapy activities.
Halloween Speech Therapy Activities Bundle
I recently updated all of the products in my bundle AND added a prevocalic/vocalic /r/ game to the bundle. So if you have purchased my bundle OR any of the individual products, head over to my TPT store to download a newer version with more targets and clearer fonts.
Flip Flap Trick or Treating
This is one of my favorite activities. I can use it with almost all of my clients and they don’t even realize that we are working. It’s virtual trick or treating. You create the trick or treat door and “treat” bag. Cut out the costumed children and place a child behind the door. I have the child knock on the door and say “trick or treat” when we open the door. We can work on pronouns (He is a zombie), auxiliary forms, vocabulary, social language and problem solving.
Halloween Conversation Starters and WH questions
Conversation starters are great to use as a starter in social language groups, for practice in fluency sessions or to work on articulation carryover. These questions are designed to target higher level language skills: “Would you rather go through a haunted house or watch a scary movie,” or “What age do you think children should stop trick or treating and why?”
These packets also include WH questions (who, what, where, when, why and how) designed to probe for generalization of a students ability to answer questions as well as to be able to describe a procedure/action using sequencing words. These questions are generally answered with facts. (Ex. “What is inside a pumpkin”, “Where do you put Halloween candy?”)
Boo! Prevocalic and Vocalic R Quick Play Game
This is just a quick game you can play that is similar to the game bang that I made up to work with my students who are practicing prevocalic and vocalic /r/. Put the cards in the container and have them say the words as they pull them out. If they pull out a “Boo!” card they have to put all of their cards back in the container. The students with the most cards wins.
Trick or Treaters at the Door: Finger plays for Halloween
This contains a trick or treat song sung to the “Wheels on the Bus” that I made for a preschool classroom with manipulatives you can use. I also included manipulative and activity ideas for the popular, “5 Little Pumpkins” rhyme.
Add it Up: Halloween Open Ended Game
This is another quick play game that is open ended. Each card has a different direction on it (Add 10 points, add 250 points, subtract 1500 points etc.) You keep track of the score. It’s fun for students because the points get really high and it is an easy game to start playing.
These are the Halloween speech therapy activities that are included in my Halloween bundle! If you have purchased my bundle OR any of the individual products, I’d love to hear how they worked for you.
