Welcome to my new home

I’ve never been much for moving.  I stayed in my “starter” apartment for 6 years and then moved to my current home where I’ve been for 10 years.  I don’t like packing-or to be honest carrying around those heavy boxes.  I’m also the person that doesn’t really help when group moving an object.  I think I try.  But if you ask me to help you move your couch, I’m pretty sure I’m just laying hands on it like a Ouija board.  Luckily, moving my blog didn’t require any heavy lifting.  And I hired a professional mover (blog designer,)  Sara at Moonsteam Design.

I started blogging on a local radio station’s equivalent of My Space.  I wrote a lot about my life and chronicled my whole pregnancy and my first year with my  little guy.  I got involved with Facebook and posted less and less.  One day, I went to log in and everything was gone.  They had shut down the site without warning.  Everything I’d written-my online journal was missing.  I was pretty upset.  In retrospect, it was probably for the best.  I don’t know that my son would want to see some of the more graphic descriptions of my pregnancy-even if they were pretty funny.  So after 2 1/2 years at Blogger, I started to think about whether it made sense to switch to site that I owned-and that’s how I ended up here.

It’s been a long process-I think I started in May, but I’m happy with the results and I hope you enjoy it as well.  I’m still working on a few of my resource lists, but should have those done soon.  I’m excited to get back to blogging more consistently.  A few things:

• Sign up for my email newsletter to stay up to date on my latest posts as well as receive a special gift.
• I started a monthly series in June where I focus on a specific area more in depth.  August is going to be all about Organization.  In September, I will finish up my series on personal narratives and sequencing.
• Check back here for some new blog celebrations starting the week of August 11th.  I’ve got some fun things planned.
