Are you a shopper who spends time looking for Black Friday Speech Therapy Deals? I don’t go out on Thanksgiving-mostly because I am too full and lazy-but also because I miss the thrill of trying to wake up at 3:30 AM to still miss most of the best deals.
I used to love to get the Thanksgiving paper and spend time reviewing the ads while I waited for our turkey to finish cooking. I’d make up a plan of attack and then enjoy Thanksgiving dinner with my brother and a few friends. I’d go to bed that night, but I wouldn’t set my alarm. I figured if I woke up, I’d head out to do some shopping. If not, I’d enjoy the extra sleep. Inevitably, I’d wake up at 3 am, ready to go. I guess I have an internal shopping clock. I don’t know that I ever got there early enough to score an amazing deal-but I reveled in the long lines, the people watching and even enjoyed seeing the sunrise with a cup of coffee in my hand.
My son wants a Batman-bot thing that is 50% off so there is a chance that I will get up to try to secure it for him. In case you are heading out, I found the best “speech therapy” deals around:
Walmart
They have the Scotch Laminator for 12.88. Swing around to the toy aisle to pick up Toss Across for 8.76 too. If you have time this weekend, you can modify for speech therapy the Activity Tailor’s great tutorial.
Toys R Us:
I’ve been coveting one of these since reading Mary Gonzalez’s piece in the ASHA leader last April. I don’t know that 50.00 is in my price range for it-trying to convince my son he really wants it for Christmas so I can snag it in a few months when he is done with it. Am I the only one who raids their kids closets for therapy materials?
Pop the Pig is a pretty motivating game for my clients. It’s on sale for 15.00 at Toys R Us on Thursday which is a pretty good deal.
Are you going out for Black Friday? I’d love to hear what you are hoping to pick up and if you are getting any Black Friday Speech Therapy deals.

you know, you can make cars and balls roll down just about anything for free, right? (wrapping paper tubes work well… ) and have you seen the you tube video where the giant jenga falls and hits a kid in the forehead? I’ve always wanted to make a Toss Across Artic game- but someone stole my toss across a few years ago – that’s a killer deal on the laminator… but I don’t really do walmart, so I may just wait for a sale somewhere else. Happy Thanksgiving.

I do love the wrapping paper tube tricks. I’ll have to check out the giant Jenga fail though-that sounds like it might put me off the giant game! Hope you have a great Thanksgiving!
