Do you do Elf on a Shelf? I was initially hesitant. The first year I had our elf, I forgot where I hid him. For 2 weeks I ran into the room expecting to see a decapitated Elf that our dog had chewed up. It was stressful. The second year I started seeing some cute ideas on Pinterest-and was initially resistant to the creative Elf on the shelf. It is a lot easier to just hang him on doorknobs. But I decided to do a few fun ones and now I’m kind of hooked on it. My husband thinks I am a genius with my ideas (he knows not of Pinterest) and I think it’s fine that he spends his days in awe of how amazing I am. I think he may enjoy it even more than our son. My son keeps coming up with his own ideas-oh what if Elf took over your iPad and filled it with a bunch of Christmas apps. Of course, I’d have to play them…
As I’ve been doing different elf escapades, I thought it would be fun to think of what elf might do in my speech room…

Have you used Elf on the Shelf in your speech room? What was your best hiding spot? If you are looking for some more activities for Christmas-check out my Santa and the ELF pragmatic language and direction following activity. My husband did the illustration which was awesome.

Oh my gosh, you are soooo funny. I laugh out loud every time I read your posts. I did the Elf on the Shelf in speech last year and unfortunately this year I am so swamped with work he didn’t return to our room; very sad!
