WE are pretty proud of our State Fair here in Minnesota. Each year over 1.7 million people attend our fair. So it’s probably no surprise that most of our conversations start with “Are you going to the fair?”-and quickly progress to “What did you eat?” Or maybe that’s just my conversations.
We had a great time. I ate some weird food-Pork collar with kimchi pickles. It was pretty yummy. We spent almost an hour trying to catch butterflies in the butterfly house. I didn’t want to tell the Biscuit-but I think he squeezed one too hard and was just walking around with a dead butterfly in his hand. The butterfly house is amazing and tragic at the same time. We went on some rides. And I got to cross off “riding the giant slide” from my summer bucket list. My brain knows that gravity should keep me ON the slide-but yet I’m still convinced that I will fall off of the slide. It wasn’t THAT bad though. I can be the cool mom that goes on the Giant Slide each year.
Anytime I go somewhere-the zoo, Mall of America, Disney world, etc. I find myself running around taking pictures of attractions to make conversation boards or topic boards. How fun is it to hang around me? Someday I will get an awesome camera that allows me to take perfect photos.
We use these in therapy to work on questions or to start working on narratives. They are great for my students who usually answer “I don’t know.”
Here are a few that I made for this year.
If you live in Minnesota and want a copy to use with your students-you can pick up a FREE copy HERE. How about you? Do you make up conversational topic boards? Ever spend half of your vacation taking pictures for work? I’d love to hear about it. Love this post? Share it with your friends by clicking on any picture and pinning it to Pinterest.
